Kandace Gilman, CP, LPO, Cfm, Licensed/Certified Prosthetist, Licensed Orthotist, Certified Mastectomy Fitter, Practice Manager
Kandace Gilman earned a Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Washington. She completed residency training with SCOPE in San Diego, California. She obtained her ABC certification in prosthetics in 1991 and licensure in Washington in O&P in 1999.
Kandace’s clinical practice has included prosthetic care across amputation levels and a broad range of orthotic care. She identifies working with people with all levels of amputation as a particular professional interest and enjoys caring for patients across age groups. She also has a specialized interest in treating cranial remolding orthoses.
Kandace worked for several years in San Diego before moving to Yakima, Washington, where she worked for several years at Arnold Artificial Limb. She later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and worked for a large national provider in a large medical complex providing adult and pediatric prosthetic care before returning to Yakima in 2009. She has mentored and taught five O&P residents and has given O&P lectures to physiatrist students at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Kandace entered O&P after a chance introduction while she was preparing to attend college for physical therapy. The O&P school made a presentation to prospective students and invited her to consider applying, which led her into the profession.
Outside of the clinic, Kandace enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, canning, farm-to-table activities, jogging, walking her Rottweiler, reading, hardwood work, and summer beach vacations. She describes loving her job and helping people reach their goals.
Marie Saylors, Lead Office Administrator
Marie brings extensive experience in healthcare and patient services to her role at Pacific Medical, including 15 years with the company. Her background includes approximately 13 years in prosthetics and orthotics as well as experience in vision care. Her previous work included optical care, ordering and dispensing glasses, and helping patients understand their healthcare benefits.
Marie enjoys helping patients achieve their goals and values being part of their care from beginning to end and beyond. She strives to help patients understand their healthcare benefits, navigate the process, and know that the team remains accessible when they need assistance. She especially enjoys meeting patients where they are, providing encouragement and understanding, and celebrating their achievements with them.
Marie entered the O&P profession after a friend recommended the field to her. What has kept her interested is the opportunity to become part of each patient’s journey and the wide variety of people she has the opportunity to meet and support.
As a leader, Marie values creating a positive environment where everyone’s contribution matters. Her approach centers on listening, welcoming honest feedback, communicating openly, and offering encouragement and support to both patients and her team.
Outside of work, Marie is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her family. She also looks forward to yearly trips to the beach.
