Yuji Joshua Fujioka, MS, CPO, Certified Prosthetist Orthotist
Yuji Joshua Fujioka earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Jose State University in 2014 and a Master of Health Science in Orthotics & Prosthetics from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2020. He completed residency training with small private practice in Bakersfield, California.
Yuji’s practice includes a broad range of prosthetic and orthotic care. His primary professional interests include cranial remolding orthoses, 3D-printed cranial remolding helmet technology, post-craniotomy helmet treatment, and lower-extremity prosthetics and orthotics. He enjoys working with patients across the lifespan, with a particular interest in pediatric care. He is also an NCOPE residency mentor.
Yuji first gained exposure to O&P while volunteering at the Martinez Veterans Affairs hospital in Northern California, where he met a clinician and gained experience with technical fabrication and a small O&P facility. After graduate school, he began orthotic and his prosthetic residency with a small private practice in Bakersfield, California.
Yuji was drawn to O&P by the impact that prosthetic and orthotic devices can have on mobility and function. He also values the way the profession combines clinical knowledge with engineering, fabrication, and technical skills.
Outside of the clinic, Yuji enjoys birdwatching, drawing, photography, visiting national parks, and observing birds along California’s Central Coast. He also enjoys golf and traveling to play new courses.

Sarah Fissell, MS, Resident
Sarah Fissell earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Portland and a Master of Health Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Her residency experience includes a small private practice and is now completing her residency with Pacific Medical.
Sarah is passionate about working with children with disabilities and designing orthotic and prosthetic devices intended to increase function. She especially enjoys working with pediatric and geriatric patients.
Before beginning her residency with Pacific Medical in Salinas, Sarah shadowed O&P providers in the Portland and Sacramento regions, including California Children’s Services clinics. During her graduate clinical education, she spent much of her practical training at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Hospital, where she worked with post-polio and stroke patients receiving orthotic care.
Sarah was drawn to O&P through both creativity and personal exposure to rehabilitation medicine. As a visual artist, she was interested in the hands-on design aspects of the field, and she was also inspired by her father, a pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation physician who works with children who use orthotics for mobility.
Outside of the clinic, Sarah enjoys baking, cooking, creating art, swimming, hiking, traveling to new cities, spending time with animals, and going on outdoor adventures with her husband, Eli.
Tiffany Smith, Regional Office Administrator
Tiffany brings 24 years of healthcare and medical administration experience to her role at Pacific Medical. Her background includes accounts receivable, reimbursement, medical office management, and administrative leadership. She completed training in Medical Office Administration and Billing and is also a Certified Orthotic Fitter. Tiffany has been with Pacific Medical for 11 years and currently serves as a Lead/Regional Office Administrator.
Tiffany values getting to know patients and their families personally and creating a welcoming environment built on positivity and encouragement. She views her administrative role as an opportunity to contribute directly to patient care by collaborating with practitioners, physicians, vendors, and insurance providers to help create a seamless care experience.
What Tiffany appreciates most about O&P is being able to contribute to patient care without being a clinician. Seeing patients make functional gains and being part of their journey—particularly with patients the team has cared for over many years—continues to make the field meaningful to her.
As a leader, Tiffany enjoys sharing her experience and supporting the growth and development of her team. She values open communication, collaboration, and an environment where everyone feels heard and appreciated. She also believes a positive workplace can include having fun together and is known for using an occasional “dad joke” to make people smile.
Outside of work, Tiffany enjoys spending summers at the lake with her family, wakeboarding, tubing, equestrian activities, off-road excursions, traveling, cooking, concerts, and line dancing. She also enjoys activities focused on strengthening communication and interpersonal skills.
